Class Objectives • Learn how to navigate Chesnutt Library’s Web Pages. • Learn how to locate books and journals through the Online catalog (basic and advanced) and Boolean operation • Learn how to identify databases and online resources on the subjects of Business and Computer Science • Learn how to do database searching using the Database Finder for management topics and articles.

Chesnutt Library Traditional and 24 X 7 Access Chesnutt Library Has Over 300,000 Book Titles, Over 2,700 Current Periodical Titles, Over 410 Electronic Journal Titles, Access to Over 11,600 Full-Text Electronic Journal Titles through NC Live, and Over 270 Full-Text Article and Information Databases.

Library Home Page: http://library.uncfsu.edu Click on My Library Record Your Library PIN Number Allows You to Access Article and Information Databases Off-Campus and Access Electronic Course Reserves. Once You Have Created Your PIN: You Can Renew Books Online; Request Loans of Books and Articles Through ILLIAD; and Place Hold Requests on Books From UNC-P and UNC-W.

  7. To set up a library pin number, go “Services” , click either “My Library Record” or “Off-Campus Access”

  8. You Can Obtain Books, Articles and Dissertations from Other Schools. Go to Services, Interlibrary Loan and Register for ILLIAD Requests are processed daily, Monday through Friday. Most requested items are received within one week (5-7 days) of the date of your request. Some items may take longer (2-3 weeks) if they cannot be obtained locally.

  17. Advanced Search Selecting Material Type, Location, Language, Published Year Keyword “Banking and finance or economics” (Boolean Operation) Material Type-: Video Recording Material Location- FSU Media Center

  18. Click Journal Finder on library homepage then type in the journal title or keyword “Management”

  19. Library Journals on Management are listed. Click the Computer icon to access the journal online or through database.

  20. Exercises • Wilson OmniFile: Find this database and execute a search for CAN-Spam excluding articles which comment heavily on the 1st amendment. • Find the IEEE database and search for articles about hacking biometric security. Lets talk about keywords.

  40. How to get into Mergent Online: • Click Mon library’s List Database Titles Alphabetically, select Mergent online or type “Mergent Online” in the box of search database by title or keyword Type Company’s name (i.e. Bank of America)
