  3. Mazepa was like a father to Ukrainian people. Whenever he goes back to Ukraine, Ukrainian's would be welcoming him.

  4. In 1700, Russia brought Ukraine in to the Northern War. Ukraine took 50 to 70% loss fighting with Sweden on the Baltic shores.

  5. Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks to Sultan Mehmet IV of the Ottoman Empire.

  6. The unplanned meeting between Mazepa and the Hetmans ( Ukrainian governors) because they were losing trust of Mazepa as a country representative.

  7. Mazepa asking for reinforcements from Russia. Russia refusing to help Ukraine even though Ukraine was fighting a Russian war.

  8. Mazepa offering to help Sweden in the Northern war for an independence of Ukraine in exchange.

  9. When Russia found out about Mazepa’s offer to Sweden , they sent in troops to massacre the biggest village in Ukraine to scare the Hetmans, to cause loss of support to Mazepa.
