  2. What is FAI? • bone spurs develop on the femoral head • prevent normal motion of the hip • eventually can cause osteoarthritis of the hip

  3. Who gets FAI? • elite child athletes (> 8 hours / week) in certain sports • hockey players • soccer players • basketball players

  4. Wolff’s Law • Structure and shape of bones will be altered over time in response to forces placed on them.

  5. Hypothesis Performing repetitive motions during intense training exerts a load on the femoral head and acetabulum eventually causing FAI.
