  2. Whoever is not turning about and weeping after the fashion of a waterwheel shall not see the face of the garden, he will lose the way to the garden. The waterwheel accepts water and turns and gives it away, weeping. 393/2Arberry Barks

  3. You who have sought the heart's desire in the world of water and clay, you are running towards that river in which there is no water. That way it stays in the garden, whereas another roundness rolls through a dry riverbed looking for what it thinks it wants. 393/3Arberry Barks

  4. May my heart be unapprised of where the Beloved is, if my heart is not quivering like the heart of quicksilver for the love of Him. Stay here, quivering with each moment like a drop of mercury. 393/4Arberry Barks
