QUESTION: What type of fraction is 2 ½? ANSWER: Mixed Number Step 1: Turn all mixed and whole numbers into improper fractions.

Step 2: Determine if you are multiplying or dividing. In our case, we are doubling something, which means we’re multiplying by 2.
