  2. The Purpose of Community Service • To help give back to society • To mature more as a person • To give people ways to help other people less fortunate than themselves.

  3. What I learned • I learned that the world is not a perfect place and there are many people that are less fortunate than me. I also became aware that I can still make a difference even if it is a small one in our society which really makes you feel accomplished at the end of the day.

  4. What I did for Community service • Atlanta food Bank • Good Mews • Kappa Delta Shamrock flag football tournament for prevention of child abuse. • Relay for Life

  5. Kappa Delta Flag Football tournament • The Shamrock Project supports both Prevent Child Abuse America. • Prevent Child Abuse America began in 1981 and was founded by a Kappa Delta alumnus.

  6. Kappa Delta Flag Football tournament • Fye competed in the tournament this year. It costed $100 to enter the tournament. • We lost both our games but it was a lot of fun and for a good cause.

  7. Good Mews cat shelter • Good Mews offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in the Metro Atlanta area by providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until placing them in permanent, loving homes. Good Mews promotes public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, pet overpopulation, and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach programs.

  8. What I did • I really enjoyed this place. I had a lot of fun playing wih all the cats. I had to change food, water and give pills too different cats. They had cats all shapes and sizes. I even got to see one cat get adopted. It was a blast.

  10. Atlanta Food Bank • Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank. • currently distributes almost 2 million pounds of food and other donated grocery items monthly to more than 800 non profit partner agencies in 38 different countries.

  11. What I did • Before you get started you watch a 30 min video. • My job was to sort through food and remove the damaged goods. • I also got to box up food.

  12. Relay For Life • Relay for Life raises money for cancer. • It is a 12 hour event. • I really enjoyed helping raise money for cancer.
