Habitat For humanity – Blazer Build • A nonprofit, Christian Housing Ministry that has helped to build over 500,000 decent, affordable houses and served 2.5 million people worldwide. • Their vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live • It was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller and his wife, Linda. • http://www.habitat.org/how/factsheet.aspx

  4. Service Projects • For habitat for humanity I helped to build a house. • I also volunteered for the South Georgia Classis golf tournament where I made sure the crowd remained quiet while the golfers teed off, made sure the golfers were hydrated, and kept the bibs organized and in order.

  9. Benefits of Community Service • Helps someone in need • Puts ones own life in perspective • Gives back to the community and benefits the community • Creates a positive outlook on life • It can keep kids out of trouble

  10. Why I do Community Service I think I have become a better person by volunteering. Doing community service makes me appreciate what I have and what I have been blessed with. I try not to take my life for granted after seeing what other people have to endure. It is always an eye-opener for me. It is refreshing to know that my help can make some else’s life easier.
