  1. INNOVATION FASTRAN: High accuracy Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code for compressible viscous flows. Advanced CFD Methodology for Fast Flow-Transients Small Business Innovation Research CFD RESEARCH CORPORATION HUNTSVILLE, AL • ACCOMPLISHMENTS • The basic methodology was developed in SBIR Phase II. CFD Research Corporation invested several person-years to add capabilities for unstructured grids, automated chimera overset grids, six-degree-of-freedom model for moving body analysis, Graphic User Interface (GUI), and commercial quality documentation. • COMMERCIALIZATION • FASTRAN is being commercialized as CFD-FASTRAN. Several ads have appeared in Aerospace America and software has been exhibited at AIAA Reno Conferences. • Typical license fee for CFD-FASTRAN is $50,000. Over a dozen licenses have been obtained from Raytheon, MICOM, Lockheed-Martin, Samsung Aerospace, STAE, and Embry-Riddle and Cranfield Universities. • Several contracts from Lockheed Skunk Works, Martin Baker, MICOM, and U.S. Navy. External Aerodynamics of an F-16 with Attached Stores • GOVERNMENT/SCIENCE APPLICATIONS • Aircraft, missile, and car aerodynamics. • Multiple moving body dynamic analysis including store separation, ejecting pilot/seat and aircraft canopy dynamics, train moving through tunnel and others. • Design and analysis of aircraft components such as wings, ducts, etc. 1989 Phase 2; SS-66; 2/3/98 NAS8-38489; Mary Cummings Marshall Space Flight Center
