  2. What Am I Looking For? When you start your research how do you do it and what information do you gather? We will find out about each of the points below. • Questions About Your Topic • Findings/Answers • Your Opinions and Feelings • Citing Your Sources (APA Style)

  3. Questions About Your Topic As you do your research ask the following questions as you read articles on the Internet. The answers to these questions will provide the information you need for your presentation or paper. • What Is It About? • Can I Define It? • What Are The Main Points? • What Quote Or Quotes Could I Use? • How Could I Summarize It?

  4. Findings/Answers Open your word processor and type your sources and notes. • Word Processor • Outline Form • Table Form Use either an outline form or a table form. Whichever you like the best!

  5. Outline Form Main Point 1 • Source • Main Point • Detail • Detail • Next Main Point • Detail • Detail Detail

  6. Table Form Source: Main Ideas And Details Your comments and how you can use this information

  7. Your Opinions and Feelings In your notes for your presentation you need to include the following points • How Can I Use the Information? • How Do I Feel About the Answers I Have Found?

  8. Citing Your Sources (APA Style) Citing sources is extremely important. Each source needs the information at the left. • Author • Date • Title • Retrieved Date • Electronic Address (URL) The example uses a hanging indent Click Paragraph Dialog box > Indent > Special: > hanging

  9. In Text Citations It’s ok to use information from the Internet (Copy and Paste) as long as it is less than 20 percent of your work and you cite your source. When you copy and paste or paraphrase, you need to show where you got the information! • Quote • Paraphrase • As Reference
