Hospital Tobacco Cessation Units: A Life Without Tobacco Programme in Galicia Public Hospitals

This informative and educational programme aims to promote a life without tobacco through a network of Hospital Tobacco Cessation Units in Galicia's public hospitals. The programme provides help to quit smoking for healthcare workers and specific groups, with strategies for establishing new units and supporting existing ones. Results show a positive impact on abstinence rates, justifying the need for specialized treatment units for heavy smokers and smoke-free hospital policy management. The programme involves contributions from hospital staff, public health departments, and emphasizes the importance of creating treatment units for both patients seeking to quit smoking and those following no-smoking policies in hospitals.
