  1. BehaviorExpectations

  2. This car is here for a reason. It is a symbol of what we are going to discuss today.

  3. Who can tell me what a driver should do when they come to a red light?

  4. What happens if a driver doesn’t stop and a police officer sees him?

  5. The driver gets a ticket or a consequence. So, it’s important for both adults and children to follow rules and laws; if they don’t someone might get hurt.

  6. We are going to have a new rule in our gym. The new rule is that if you are doing something that you shouldn’t you are going to get two chances to shape up. If you don’t you are going to take a time out from PE.

  7. So the first time you misbehave I will say “That’s one”. The second time you are doing something that should be stopped, I will say, “That’s two.”

  8. Hopefully, you will behave on count 1 or 2 and we can forget the whole thing. If you reach the final, “That’s 3, take 5”, you will go to the desk in the foyer. We will set the timer for a 5 minute break from PE.

  9. Once you have served your time, you are free to rejoin us in PE.

  10. What kind of issues and or/behaviors do you think would be counted in the gym?

  11. Laying on your dot. • Swinging your jersey. • Rudeness. • Screaming inappropriately. • Invading someone’s personal space. • Taking a ball out of someone’s hand. • Being asked twice to follow a direction.

  12. If your team was waiting to come into the game and you purposely interfered. • Whining. • Calling out. • Poor transitions. • Being unsafe during the game or cleaning up.

  13. As a general rule, if you wouldn’t do it in your classroom, if you wouldn’t do it in front of your parents or you wouldn’t do it in front of Ms. Belt you shouldn’t do it in the gym.

  14. The vast majority of you will never have to take a time out from PE. Most of you will probably only get one or two count the entire year. A fewof you will never even get one count. That’s a incredible feat! That tells us that most of the Wilkes student are doing the right thing and making good choices in the gym.
