  4. Larsen Classroom Rules

  5. Playground Rules • Keep Hands and Feet to Self

  6. Do not push, fight, play-fight or wrestle

  7. Do not throw rocks, sand, or woodchips

  8. Slide Rules • One at a time • Sit up to slide • Do not play tag on slide • Wait until the person is completely off the slide • Do not walk up the slide; use the ladder or stairs only

  9. Swing-Set Rules • Wait in line and count to 30 • Do not jump off while swinging • Do not stand too close • Do not stand on swings • Do not do flips on swings

  10. Monkey Bars • Wait in line • One at a time • Travel only in one direction • Do not play “Chicken Fights” • Do not play “Tag”

  11. Jump Rope Rules • Use jump ropes only on the blacktop • Use ropes for jumping games only • Do not play “Tug of War” • Do not wrap it around anyone

  12. Ball-Use Rules • Bounce balls only on the blacktop • Kick balls only on the grass • Basket-balls only for courts • Tether-balls only on poles • Soccer-balls only on grass • Kick the ball not the person! • STOP bouncing balls once bell rings

  13. Do not slide-tackle, elbow or shove others Silly play and roughhousing often leads to anger and even a fight. Don’t do it!

  14. Tag Rules • Only play Tag on the grass area • Touch the person gently on their shoulder when tagging; do not push/shove

  15. Consequences for NOT following playground rules • If a minor rule is broken you will be asked to sit out for 2 to 15 minutes • If major rule is broken, you will sit out the remainder of your recess and your teacher will be given a blue discipline referral form • Blue Discipline Referral Form: Teacher will determine whether or not it is time to refer you to the Assistant Principal.

  16. I will be a RECESS CHAMP! • Conversation - Voice Levels 0-4 • Help – Walk up to a Recess Supervisor • Activity – Outdoor Recess play time • Movement – Walk on blacktop, may run on grass • Participation – play different activities • Success – Safety= Excellent recess behavior

  17. When the bell rings: 1. Stop, look, and listen 1. WALK quickly and quietly to your line, 2. Wait in linequietlyuntil teacher arrives. 3. Voice Level 0-1 NO bouncing balls!!!

  18. Hall Rules • 1. WALK • 2. VOICE LEVEL 0 • 3. Go directly to you classroom or playground • 4. Stay away from backpacks and classroom doors • 5. No student should be “hanging out” in Hallways

  19. Computer Lab Rules • 1. WALK • 2. Keep it Clean and Organized • 3. Take Care of Headphones • 4. Log out quickly • 5. Push Chairs in and stand beside it • 6. Voice Level 0

  20. Cafeteria Rules • 1. Voice level 0 while in line (coming in & going out) • 2. Eat quickly and carefully (chew well) • 3. Do not speak with your mouth full • 4. Voice level 1-2 (whisper/conversation) • 5. Keep your area clean • 6. Wait until your side of the table is dismissed (Stand up without touching your tray, then pick it up.) • 7. CHAMP-WALK when dismissed

  21. Library Rules • 1. Always take Library Card • 2. Take CARE of books as if they were your own • 3. Voice Level 0-1 • 4. Read Quietly at the tables • 5. Keep Books Organized • 6.Drop-ins only during recess with teacher pass

  22. Restroom Rules 1. Walk in quietly; VOICE LEVEL 0 2. Use only the toilet paper needed 3. Flush the toilet paper in the toilet 4. Wash your hands 5. Turn water off!!! 6. Return to class immediately

I will be a CHAMP Indoors! • Conversation-Voice Levels 0-2(whisper-conversation) • Help – Raise hand or walk up to an adult • Activity –line-up, walk, computer, library, restroom • Movement – Walking quietly or Sitting quietly • Participation – Stay on task in all settings • Success – Citizenship= Excellent indoor behavior * All poor choices will be have a negative consequence.

  24. Dress Code Policy and Hygiene • Wear a school uniform every day PANTS: blue or khaki SHIRTS: dark blue, light blue, , or red • Personal Hygiene: shower, brush you teeth, comb hair • Open-toe shoes must have a strap around the ankle white

Bullying Bullying is the act of intentionally exposing a person to repeated negative actions over time, inflicting injury of discomfort upon another person through physical contact, manipulationand/orwords. ________________________________________________ Direct Bullying- a physical or verbal in nature (hitting, kicking, name-calling, and use of profanity). Indirect Bullying-an emotional or passive-aggressive in nature (excluding, threatening, intimidating, and manipulating). TALK to an adult when you see bullying happening!

California Ed Code: Suspension and Expulsion • DRUGS: Posses, use, sell, or furnish a controled substance • WEAPON: Possess, sell, or furnish a firearm, knife, explosive, or other dangerous object of this type. • ROBBERY: Commit or attempt to commit robbery or extortion • DAMAGE of SCHOOL PROPERTY: Cause or attempt to cause damage to school property

  27. How can YOU be a CHAMP? Demonstrate GOOD CHARACTER! • Trustworthy: Do what you say you’ll do and do not gossip or spread rumors • Respectful: Do not name-call or use profanity • Responsible: Be on time, in uniform and well prepared • Fair: Take turns and share • Caring: Do not exclude others, help those in need and be kind • Citizenship: Follow all rules
