  4. Our core purpose... • Effective teaching and learning • Effective monitoring and tracking of children’s academic progress • To develop child’s self –esteem, confidence, independence and build resilience • To foster strong working partnerships with parents and other agencies

  5. Effective Teaching and Learning • Termly monitoring of the quality of teaching and learning through observations • Planning and book scrutiny across the year • Rigorous interview procedures

  6. Monitoring and Tracking of Progress • Through half termly Pupil Progress meetings with the head and deputy , the class teacher’s discuss every child • Targets are set, progress scrutinised and impact discussed • As a result of these meetings new interventions are put in place, staff can be re-deployed, extra strategies put in place, discussions with parents, children move groups, pupil interviews

  7. Accountability • Local Authority advisor meets with the Head every term to set targets, challenge and monitor the work we do. • The Head is accountable to the Governing Body and reports termly on progress made. • Ofsted

  8. Partnership with Parents • Very strong and valued • Communication is very important – at the end of the day, children handing letters to the class teacher, email the office • Parents evening • Emailed letters from the school • The school’s website • Parent Forum
