HOMEWORK • Homework Packets will go home each Monday and are due each Friday. • Please initial homework packet nightly after your child reads to you. • Your child will have a bag with their spiral, folder, books and directions weekly. • Homework is documented and counts as a work habits grade, we use the following scale. • E = 0-1 • S = 2 • N = 3 • U = 4 and up

ATTENDANCE • School day is 7:55-3:15 • Tardy after 8:20 (on the 4th tardy your child’s conduct grade will be lowered) • Early Dismissals • Perfect Attendance award is earned when student is present from 8:15-3:15 everyday. Exceptions: doctor’s note to cover partial day absence due to appt. • Send a note after any absence. • Refer to student handbook for any clarifications.

  8. Meeting Student Needs • Flexible grouping • Specialty groups • Independent project groups • Student workstations • Technology activities in lab and classroom • Small group instruction

  9. Call for GT Referrals The GT referral window for K-11 is August 22nd- September 23rd. If you would like to refer your child for Klein’s Gifted and Talented Program, please stop by your home campus and pick up a referral packet. Referral packets are available in the front office. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our counselor, Stephanie Collier at 832-484-6563 or our Assistant Principal, Gail McGuire at 832-484-6551. COMMUNICATION • The best way to contact your teacher is email. • Phones will not be answered during the school day in order for learning to be uninterrupted. • Emergency messages 832-484-6600 • Schedule conferences (every day except Wed.) • Teacher Websites • Tuesday Folder (Wednesday, if Monday is a holiday) Review work, sign and return folder the next day!

  11. Copy Reduction Fewer notes will be sent home from Roth. Most communication will take Place through e-mail and the Roth website. Please make sure your teacher and the office are aware of your electronic contact information.

  12. SNACKS • Snack time is optional • Students are given the chance to eat snack mid- morning • Suggestions include • pretzels, granola bar, goldfish, crackers, dry cereal, cheese crackers, graham crackers, dried fruit… • Due to food allergies please do not send a snack containing peanuts or peanut butter.
