  23. The Wild Beast Returns – Revelation 17 • The Wild Beast which you have seen was, and is not, and yet is destined to re-ascend, before long, out of the bottomless pit and go his way into perdition. • And the inhabitants of the earth will be filled with amazement--all whose names are not in the Book of Life, having been recorded there ever since the creation of the world--when they see the Wild Beast: because he was, and is not, and yet is to come • And the Wild Beast which once existed but does not now exist--he is an eighth and yet is one of the seven and he goes his way into perdition. Revelation 17:8, 11 Weymouth

  24. Impact of Napoleon • Spread the ideas of the French Revolution in Europe. • Defeated the Old and New Rome (Austria & Russia) • Ended the Holy Roman Empire in Germany • Conquered a European realm that was bigger than Caesar’s or Charlemagne’s conquests in Europe • Created more kings in a year and a half than the Holy Roman Emperors had in a millennium. • Emancipated Jews across Europe. • Sold the Louisiana Colony (one million square miles) to the United States • Ended the Papal dominion and power to persecute.

  25. Why Napoleon’s Egyptian Campaign? • Arab and Western scholars date 1799 as the beginning of the modern era in the world and the Middle East. • As seen by Muslims, Napoleon invasion of Egypt is the precursor of the Western invasion and dominance of the Muslim world, and this includes Israel’s rebirth. • Napoleon emancipated Christians and Jews from their status as second class citizens (dhimmis) in Egypt. • Napoleon impacted the three monotheistic religions, Christianity, Judaism, Islam and sowed the seeds of modern conflict among the three. • Napoleon’s invasion was the beginning of the Lord’s preparation of the Muslim world for the kingdom.
