  2. Timeline 1933-1939 January 30th,1933: Adolf Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany. January 30th,1939: Hitler threatens Jews during Reichstag speech. August 25th,1939:Britain and Poland Sign a Mutual Assistance Treaty. September 1st,1939:Germany invades Poland. September 3rd,1939:Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand declare war on Germany. September 10,1939: Canada declares war on Germany. Battle of the Atlantic begins. September 15th,1939: Germany Jews stripped of all rights.

  3. Timeline 1940-1942 March 12th, 1940: Finland surrenders to the USSR. April 9th, 1940: Denmark surrenders to Germany. May 28th, 1940: Belgium surrenders to Germany. June 10th, 1940: Norway surrenders to Germany. Italy declares war on Britain and France. June 22nd, 1940: France surrenders to Germany. September 27th, 1940: Germany, Italy, and Japan sign the Tripartite Pact, making Japan part of the Axis. March 1st, 1941: Bulgaria signs the Tripartite Pact, becoming part of the Axis. March 25th, 1941: Yugoslavia signs the Tripartite Pact, briefly becoming part of the Axis. April 17th, 1941: Yugoslavia surrenders to Germany. June 23rd, 1941: Hungary and Slovakia declare war on the USSR. June 26th, 1941: Finland declares war on the USSR. December 8th, 1941: The Allies (except the USSR) declare war on Japan. May 6, 1942: The remaining U.S. troops on Corregidor in the Philippines surrender to the Japanese . June 4, 1942: The U.S. defeat the Japanese at the Battle of Midway. July 22, 1942: Germany begins deporting hundreds of thousands of Jews from the Warsaw ghetto to the Treblinka concentration camp. August 22, 1942: Brazil declares war on Germany and Italy.

  4. Timeline 1943 January 31st,1943: Over 90,000 German troops at Stalingrad surrender to the Soviets. February 8th,1943: U.S. troops complete the capture of Guadalcanal from the Japanese. April 19th,1943: The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising begins after German troops attempt to deport the ghetto’s last surviving Jews. May 12th,1943: Axis forces in North Africa surrender. May 16th,1943: German troops crush the last resistance of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and kill thousands of Jews. July 10th,1943: Over 160,000 allied troops land in Sicily, beginning Operation Husky. August 17th,1943: Operation Husky is successfully concluded when American troops take Messina. September 3rd,1943: The new Italian government formally surrenders. October 13th,1943: Italy declares war on Germany.

  5. Timeline 1944 January 6th, 1944: Soviet troops advance in Poland January 22nd,1944: The allies land in Anzio, Italy. February 20th,1944: The allies begin massive bombing in Germany. May 12th,1944: Germans surrender in the Crimea. May 15th,1944: Finland and the Soviet Union agree to a cease-fire. May 25th, 1944: Germans retreat from Anzio. July 20th,1944: German military leaders attempt but fail to kill Adolf Hitler in the Rustenburg Assassination Plot. Hitler then kills about 200 suspected plotters. July 23rd,1944: U.S. troops make an amphibious assault on the Japanese. August 23rd,1944: Romania Surrenders. September 4th,1944: Finland and the Soviet Union agree to a cease-fire. September 9th,1944: Bulgaria makes peace with the USSR(U.S. and Soviet Union, Russians), then declares war on Germany.

  6. Timeline 1945 August 6, 1945 : First atomic bomb dropped, on Hiroshima, Japan. August 8, 1945 : Soviets declares war on Japan and invade Manchuria. August 9, 1945 : Second atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan . August 14, 1945:Japanese agree to unconditional surrender. September 2, 1945 : Japanese sign surrender agreement . U.S victory over Japan. October 24, 1945 - United Nations is born.
