Writing exercise • You are expected to discuss your own cultural background and its manifestation in your personal interaction with foreigners and in your attitudes towards other people. You may focus on one of the aspects mentioned below, or discuss each of them separately.
PHASE 1. • First read the articles assigned by the teacher, concerning the concept of citizenship seen from various standpoints, and the article delivered during the class. .

PHASE 2. WRITING EXERCISE (3–5 PAGES)
Discuss your own nationality and how it is manifested in your work. If you are not dealing with foreigners, you can contemplate your work-related attitudes manifesting a national view of the world.What national values come up in your work, and how may they differ from values prevailing in other countries? .
What kinds of value conflicts come up or may come up in your work? Describe a child welfare worker who is culturally competent, i.e. is capable of and qualified for coping with client situations and working with foreigners. If you have any questions, you can contact the teacher by sending an email to the teacher.
Deadline Submit the finished exercise to the e-learning platform. Evaluation principles Pass/fail. A passed exercise is one which proves that the student has read the articles and can use them as a basis for discussing his or her nationality.
