Topic: The Zhou Dynasty Session: 49 Date ____ To rule a country of a thousand chariots, there must be reverent attention to business, and sincerity; economy in expenditure, and love for men; and employment of the people at the proper seasons. —Confucius,The Analects Interpret Confucius' words of wisdom. What words or phrases come to mind when you read this quote? Who do you think Confucius might be talking? Explain your reasoning. What wisdom is he bestowing upon the listener?

Objective: In our study of ancient China, SWBAT evaluate the impact the Zhou Dynasty had on the social structure, government and philosophical thought by reading selections, examining images and media to gather details as they draw conclusions in graphic organizers. Students will also interpret primary sources as they evaluate Confucianism. NCSCOS 6H1, 6C1, 6E
