A poem by Lynn Practice Nurse for Dr W P Bevington’s retirement. Dear William Page, you’re at an age, it’s time to take a rest. If truth be told, you’re not that old – this isn’t said in jest. It isn’t odd, you’ve got the bod – a younger man may dream, By keeping fit, you’re no old git. In fact – crème de la cream. You’ve had a lot of patience, for problems big and small, You never moan or stamp your feet, oh no, not you at all. It goes without me saying, though I’ll say it all the same, You’ve always been my favourite, from the day one when I came. We’d squeeze into the kitchen, with mugs both clean and dirty, Sexual harassment whilst at work? No, us just being ‘flirty’. Now some might think I brainwashed you to say that I’m the best, Most perfect nurse in Christendom, and better than the rest. I’ve made you call me Luscious Lynn, of man you are the main, So now I’ll have to start again, but which one shall I train? And now at last we say goodbye, the worst of all our fears, Not global warming causing floods, just us with our tears. Roll on the eighteenth of April, and lunch at your behest, Then days off, weekends, holidays, we’ll turn up as your guest! So, sitting in your deckchair with, no worries – still be wary, Of things to do (like fix the loo), with list in hand comes Mary For up to date information visit our website :www.woodbridgehillsurgery.co.uk Don't forget to register at the surgery for internet access to book appointments and order prescriptions. Please ask at reception for details.
