HIGH PERFORMANCE • 904 District Academic Performance Index - 800 state target (All EUSD schools higher) - 1000 perfect score • All schools are California Distinguished Schools – OPE, ECC recognized again! • Multiple awards and honors for programs • No schools identified as program improvement or failing by NCLB

  7. 21st CENTURY CLASSROOMS

  8. PURPOSE • Students - Every student will have continuous access to 21st Century technology tools which will allow him/her to access, process, analyze, evaluate, shape, and design in a constantly changing environment. • Teachers - Every teacher will have continuous access to 21st Century classroom technology that will allow them to differentiate learning, access multiple medias, and incorporate current technology into the classroom learning environment.

  9. CONFIGURATION OF K-2 CLASSROOM All K-2nd grade classrooms will consist of the following tools for teaching and learning: • Teacher computing station • Printer • Document camera • LCD projector • Projection screen • Interactive white board • Learning software • Classroom computer lab

  10. CONFIGURATION OF 3-6 CLASSROOM All 3rd – 6th grade classrooms will consist of the following tools for teaching and learning: • Teacher computing station • Printer • Document camera • LCD projector • Projection screen • Individual computing platform for every student • Learning software

  11. TECHNOLOGY ENDOWMENT FUND • Funds set aside for technology refresh • Allows for new technology upgrades • Software changes • Not one time focus • Gives district time to acquire additional funding for long-term technology planning

  12. TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE • Upgrade aging technology infrastructure • Plan already approved • Retire 5 year debt plan

  14. GREEN PLAN GOALS • Reduce energy use and costs at all campuses • Reduce water use and costs at all campuses • Incorporate recycling programs in place at all campuses • Acquire LEEDs “Existing Schools Certification” at all campuses

  15. GREEN INITIATIVE PLANS • Solar panels at 7 schools • Solar tubes and natural lighting • Reclaimed water • Waterless urinals • Heating and air conditioning efficiency

  16. LEARNING CENTER FACILITY / SCHOOL FARM CONCEPT

  17. PROJECT PLAN • Multi-use educational facility that will support student learning in science, nutrition, wellness, and community awareness as well as provide fruits and vegetables for the district child nutrition program.

  18. SCHOOL FARM • South side of property • Contracted farming services - Fruits and vegetables for the district food services program in exchange for land use to grow organic produce for sale • Details still being developed • Could incorporate community garden on farm side of property

  20. LEARNING CENTER DETAILS • Located on North half of property • Multi-purpose meeting room with presentation equipment – flexible arrangement and use (150 capacity) • Science / classrooms • Kitchen • Use for student investigations, staff development, community use

  21. SPECIFIC SITE FACILITY NEEDS • Each site has specific list compiled from 5-year facility needs plan and Board walk-through facility needs list. • Examples: Repair old roofing, plumbing upgrades, replace fire alarm systems, upgrade electrical system, etc.

HOW TO ACCOMPLISH PROJECT LIST • Bond extension • Rate stays same for taxpayers • Board needs to vote to place on ballot for November, 2010 • High level of community support for schools and projects on facility list • Would save district general fund dollars • Would give students access to state-of-art classrooms and technology
