  19. X Learning from Confucius Backdrop of an excavation site. Hello children! I am Dr. Dave. I am so glad you came. We recently discovered this site and believe that together we all can find some interesting objects which can tell us more about the warring states era, in particular about Confucius. Dr. Dave

  20. X Learning from Confucius Backdrop of an excavation site. Dr. Dave Let me show you something I found while digging.

  21. X Learning from Confucius Backdrop of an excavation site. Dr. Dave What do you think this is? A coin? A Symbol?

  22. X Learning from Confucius Backdrop of an excavation site. Dr. Dave This is regarded as the symbol of Confucianism. And that is why we believe that this site is related to Confucius and we may find some interesting artifacts, which tell us more about him.

  23. X Learning from Confucius Site 1 Living Place Site 2 School Dr. Dave There are two “sites” we have found so far. One is the place where he must have lived. The second site we have found could be his school .

  24. X Learning from Confucius Site 1 Living Place Site 2 School Dr. Dave His philosophy was that strong family values forms the basis of a stable society, and there by the country.

  25. X Learning from Confucius Site 1 Living Place Site 2 School Dr. Dave Confucius did not have a school building, like you have today. He taught in the compound of his own house, under an old scholar tree.

  26. X Learning from Confucius Site 1 Living Place Site 2 School Dr. Dave He taught his students to become “gentlemen” so that they could wisely and effectively govern the state. He encouraged them to lead a disciplined and family-centered way of life.

  27. X Learning from Confucius Site 1 Living Place Site 2 School Dr. Dave We think that the objects or artifacts in the first site will tell us about Confucius’s life at home. While the objects in the school will shed more light on his teaching philosophy.

  28. X Learning from Confucius Site 1 Living Place Site 2 School Dr. Dave Mrs. Beth told me that you are eager to help us dig some of the objects. So, let’s begin. Ah ha, I forgot, need to tell you some rules!
