  3. Understanding Your Score Review the Scenario Metrics Analysis to understand what your result means. The video contains several slides with explanations for each slide at less than one-minute each. The slide show runs automatically through each slide. To understand your score, you should listen to the first seven slides (Doing the things we do, Scenario analysis, The leadership score, Your virtual leader total, Calculating a total, The leadership percentage, and The business result percentage) (less than 10 minutes): www.simulearn.net/metrics.html You will see two main scores, each comprised of three sub-components. The Leadership score is comprised of power, tension and ideas. “Power” represents the influence you have on others and is a based on others’ reactions to you. “Tension” is based on productive tension, that is, keeping people engaged and interested not too bored or too frustrated to participate productively. Finally “Ideas” is based on the amount of ideas or participation from others. These three sub-components comprise your leadership score. The Business Result score is comprised of three sub-components as well: Financial Performance, Customer Satisfaction, and Employee Morale. Each sub-component score is based on the ideas discussed and passed in the meeting. The Leadership Score and the Business Result score comprise the overall score.

  4. What This Simulation Might Do For You • Become more aware of your preferences for leadership, and perhaps, challenges to being successful. • Recognize how and when to assert yourself. • Recognize resistance in verbal and non-verbal forms and think critically about how to deal with that. • Recognize that personal issues and relationships affect business results. • Put into practice, some concepts and ideas relevant to many management classes and work scenarios.
