  2. Momentous Times for Public Libraries! “…Citizens must be guaranteed access to the ever-expanding universe of knowledge, tools, services, and resources available on the Internet. Public libraries not only can and should provide that access, they also act as catalysts for improving Internet service for entire communities.” 2008-2009 ALA President Jim RettigSource: http://www.wo.ala.org/districtdispatch/?p=1203

  3. National Broadband Plan • Goal No.4 • …at least 1 gigabit per second broadband service to anchor institutions such as schools, libraries, hospitals, and government buildings.1 …..but to what end? 1. Source: National Broadband Plan, chapter 2http://bit.ly/dlWVN9

  4. Let’s consider Advanced Videoconferencing… ? ? We have a great community room with a large movie size screen of about 16x16 feet, a state-of-the-art surround sound system, air-conditioning, clean bathrooms close by and a great library cafe that offers coffee, soda and scrumptious food that can be eaten while you watch. For many people, our "community living room" offers better amenities than their own homes, plus you get the excitement of watching with others. Janie L. Hermann, Librarian, Princeton Public Library, Princeton, NJ
