  2. Hello I'm back I went to so many different places for example I went to the Mediterranean Sea, Sahara desert, and the atlas Mountains. First I went to the Mediterranean sea and it is in the south and I swam all the way to the other side. Next I went to the Sahara on a helicopter and it was so long and it so hot. Finally I went to the Atlas Mountains and I went hiking and I saw lots of land and when I got to the top I put a flag. See you tomorrow.

  8. Petroleum and Natural Gas PETROLEUM NATURAL GAS

  9. Hello, now I’m at a town in Algeria which is called ‘Annaba’ . I barely got here and when I was on my way to Annaba the driver told me that Algeria exports petroleum because we past by BIG tubes standing up and there was fire on top of it. Petroleum literally means ‘Rock Oil’. Natural gas is also one of the natural resources that Algeria has. Well, let me tell you more about Annaba. Well Annaba is one of the famous and most common known villages or cities in Algeria. It’s so beautiful here but it still looks like their freedom isnt so well here. Well next I’ll be meeting with a man. He’s going to show me more about this place To: The Martinez Family 1939 Lee st 60018 Des Plaines, ILL

  10. Before Independence

  11. I met this man, he told me a lot about Algeria. One of the things he mentioned is before the Algerians gained independence, the French country ruled them. But it wasn’t gentle it was violent demanding. It was around 1962 when they gained their independence. But the were still fighting for political and social freedom. It sounds harsh doesn’t it.? Well that’s what I though, gaining your independence for your country, but still fighting about social freedom. the most surprising thing I hear was that Maghreb (the region of northwest Africa) they carried out several bombing that killed dozens of people in 2007 To: The Martinez Family 1939 lee st 60018 Des Plaines, ILL

  12. Voting/Elections

  13. Well one of the things they do, here at Algeria they elect for a five-year term. They also elect a prime minister for a five-year term also. What I though about this is that “five-year-term” sounds very long. Here at the United States we only have two full terms, or at least four full terms. 14. Iron Ore and Phosphates

  15. These other two natural resources Algeria has are Iron ore and Phosphates. Iron ore is most common metal that are used for armor and tools. To make tools or material you need to melt it first and they name it ‘iron ingot’. And after you melt it you can make things such as metal buckets to carry water in. or food place to place. Phosphates are organic chemicals that are mostly in dairys or meat. This chemical has iron and phosphorous and oxygen. Phosphorous is a kind of mineral or sometimes apeares in rocks. 16. Uranium and Lead zinc

  17. Uranium is a very heavy metal. That is mostly found in rocks or sea water. This ‘very heavy metal’ was named after Uranus which was discovered eight years earlier. Lead Zinc is a kind of silver white metal such as uranium. But its not as heavy as Uranium. Zinc is also used for treatment. To: The Marinez Family 1939 lee st 60018 Des Plaines, ILL

  18. Current Events 2012/2013

  19. I found out today ( March 24th 2013) there was a war in Algeria. It took place Febuary 6th 2012 it didn’t sound that violent as it’s suppose to. But from the guy I just met. He said it wasn’t so violent as the old wars they had before. So from my point of view it doesn’t sound violent and it sounds that not a lot of people got killed in the war.
