  1. Psa 37:1 Of David. Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! 2For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. 3Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. 4Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! 8Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.

  2. 9 For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the earth. • 10In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there. • 11 But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.

  3. Ep 5:15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16redeeming (rescue from loss, making the best use of) the time, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,

  4. Making Time for God • We have more than enough • time for God. 8 hrs. sleep/day 9 hrs. job/day 2 hrs./day eating- 14 hrs./wk. 3 hrs./day relax & misc. activities- 21hrs./wk. 10% of waking hrs. for God 1.5 hrs./day for God- 10.5/wk. (5 hrs. in church/wk.- 5.5 hrs. in prayer and reading/wk.) .5 hrs./day extra- 3.5/wk. spend it wisely

  5. Be still, and know that I am God: 1. Making time for God must be the 1stpriority Mt 6: 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 2. Making time for God is implicit throughout the Bible. Mr 1:35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and he prayed. • Acts 17:11 … they searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. • Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. • Some Excuses • “I have to provide for my family; God understands.”

  6. “By the end of the day I am exhausted.” • “The kids demand all my time.” • 3. Making time for God is not easy. • a. We must maketime for God; we will not find time for God. • b. When we decide to make time for God expect spiritual war. • A war with two enemies- Satan and self. • We make time for… • We make time for… • We make time for what we like & what we think is important.

  7. Our Lord’s Warning Mt 13:22 As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. • Our Lord’s Encouragement • Pr 8:17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me early (diligently) find me. 34Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

  8. Are you making time to be with God? Are you making the best use of your time for your soul?
