  3. Performance SchoolsContract Schools&Charter Schools in a Shared Facility with a Traditional, Performance, Contract or Other Charter School Using CPS Food Services

  4. At Your Service • Food Service Request Form & Calendar • Walkthrough • Evaluate facility/equipment needs • Timeline • Type of Service • Assign District Manager (DM) • Assign Nutrition Support Specialist (NSS) • Menus/Marketing and Merchandising Materials

  5. Nutrition Programs • National School Lunch Program - NSLP • School Breakfast Program - SBP • NSLP After-School Care Snack Program • Child and Adult Care Food Program - CACFP Hot or Cold After-School Meals • Seamless Summer Option - Cold Meals

  6. Nutrition Programs • All programs are monitored, reviewed and audited on a regular basis. • CPS On Site Review • Schools must adhere to: • menus provided • all federal and state program regulations • cash and meal accountability procedures as designated by Nutrition Support Services

ISBE Audits FY10 • National School Lunch Program (NSLP) • Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) The site audit will include: • Entrance and Exit Conference with Auditor • Observation of Meal Services – Breakfast/Lunch/Snack or After School Meal • Review of Accountability Procedures • Review of All Meal Applications

CPS Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals • ACCESS TO IMPACT/ODA!!!!!! • ODA/FRM and Training • Application Distribution Date • Prior Year Student Eligibility/Roster • Application Collection/Data Entry/Verification • Start Current Year Eligibility/No application=P • Deadline for Discretionary Funds • Current Year Eligibility – Tickets/ID’s

Lunchroom Staff • Nutrition Support Services will determine and provide the required staff. • Positions are temporarily assigned or awarded permanently as a result of a successful bid according to union contract (Local 1 & Local 7) • Schools following other than the CPS calendar will be responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result.

  10. Lunchroom Staff Positions • Lunchroom Manager, Elementary Manager • Associate Manager • Cook • Lunchroom Attendant (LRA) • Porter • Pool Employees

  11. Staff Management • NSS is the your main contact/resource for program, accountability and operation information/questions/concerns • NSS trains and monitors LR manager & staff • Manager supervises the staff • Discipline • Employee Discipline and Due Process Policy • CPS vs. non CPS Principal

  12. SanitationMaintain a Clean and Safe Building • Chicago Department of Public Health • Blitz Inspections • Sanitation Audit • HACCP Verification
