  1. Dear Maggie, I just visited the most famous structure in all of Greece! The Parthenon is a temple in honor of the goddess Athena. The building was built to celebrate the end of the war with Persia. It’s built on top of the Athenian acropolis. It’s almost completelymade from marble! The Parthenon is giant! It’s 237 feet long, 110 feet wide and 60 feet tall. Isn't that amazing? They spent 12 million drachmas building it!

  2. Dear Emily, I went to this beautiful theater, it was outside and completely made of marble. It was so weird though, there were only boys in the play. They played both female and male roles. I found out that drama is a big part of Greek life. They only have two types of plays, tragedy and comedy. The comedies make fun of politicians or other famous personalities. The tragedies are about the downfall of great heroes or arrogance towards the gods. They use painted scenery to provide a backdrop.
