  2. ILP Requirements for 7th Graders • Career Matchmaker • Careers that Interest Me • Schools that Interest Me • Career Cluster Interests • Organizations and Activities • Annual ILP Review • Annual Student Survey

  3. Steps • First, you need to go www.careercruising.com/ilp • Next, when you get to the login page type in your ten-digit username and six-digit password (your teacher will give them to you). • Click the “Log In” button.

  4. It will take you to this page after you login. Now click on view details. You also have the option to write in your Journal. There, you can write about what you want to be when you grow up or what college you want to go to.

  5. This page will come up and it will show you the things you have to complete to reach 100%. Review these requirements and make sure you understand them. Then, click on “ILP”.

  6. Then click on “Career Cruising” and “Learning Styles”.

  7. After it comes up it will have a gray button that will say “Find my Learning Style”. Click on it and it will lead you to this page. Read over the information in the box and then click “Start now”. It will ask you 20 multiple choice questions.

  8. After you’ve finished a screen that looks something like this will come up. These are my results so yours will more than likely not be the same. You might be a tactile, auditory, or visual learner. It has a paragraph and suggestions about what you should do to help you study better.

  9. After you’re done with that, go back to the home page by clicking the “ILP” button on the blue bar at the top. When you’re there click “Assessments”.

  10. Now click on “Career Matchmaker”

  11. Once you click on it, this page will come up. If you’ve done previous work from 6th grade then you need to click on “Review My Answers”. Once it pops up, complete the rest of the questions and make revisions to your previous answers. If you haven’t it will say this and you need click on “Complete My Skills”.

  12. Once you have completed both, this screen will pop up, showing that you have completed all of them. Now click “Save to My ILP”

  13. Once you have clicked on Save To My ILP this screen will come up. Now click the box next to “Yes, I have reviewed and revised this section of my ILP” so there is a check.

  14. Pick 4 • Click on “See All Results” under the career clusters. • Once it pops up, pick four careers that you like best. This is part of the Careers that Interest Me. • Once you have picked your four careers, read over each section of each one and at the bottom of each one there will be a button that says “Save to my ILP”. Click on it and save each of your careers.

  15. Schools that Interest Me • You have completed the Career Matchmaker and the Careers that Interest Me, so now you need to complete the Schools that Interest Me. • To do this, click on the “Career Cruising” button on the blue panel. • Then, click on “Schools that Interest Me”.

  16. This page will come up and you need to click “Add Schools”.

  17. Searching • When the new page comes up, you can search for schools or search for programs. • If you want to search for schools then click on that button and type in the school you’re searching for. • If you want to search for a program, click on that button and either type in the program you’re searching for, or click on one of them. • After you have chosen a school, click on it and look over it, then click, “Save to My ILP” on the blue panel.

  18. Next is the Organizations and Activities. First click on “Activities and Experiences”, then click on “Organizations and Activities”

  19. Organizations and Activities • Now that you are on the right page: • Near the top under your ILP Completion Status it says “Add Organizations and Activities”. Click on that drop-down and pick one you have done. • Fill in the organization or activity or enter your own, then put the dates you were in it and a brief description.

  20. Annual ILP Review • When you get to this step, tell your teacher that you are ready for the Annual ILP Review. • Your teacher will complete this. • The Annual ILP Review is just to show that you have completed all the steps so far and that you have worked hard on Career Cruising!

  21. Annual Student Survey • After your teacher has completed the review a notification will pop up in the “Quick Links” box on the ILP homepage entitled “Annual Student Survey”. • Click on it and fill out the survey. • It is anonymous so no one will know exactly how you answered it. • This survey is mainly to see how you learn in the classroom.

  22. Your ILP should now be at 100% and you are finished with 7th grade Career Cruising online! You can always go back and change some of your answers once your interests grow. 100%!! 100%!!
