  9. Welcome to English at the Lake! • What does your child need? • Binder with 5 sections to stay organized • What will your child be doing in class? • Grammar, Language, and usage activities • Reading non fiction and fiction • Writing explanatory, narrative and argument pieces.

How Can You Help Your Child Succeed in High School English • Talk to him/her about what we are doing in class • Check the class website – here you will find classroom schedules, important dateshw, and handouts • Check hw – students will have hw several nights a week • Encourage your child to reach out to us if struggling, we are always available to help before and after school
