  1. THE SIERRAprogram by Outward Bound Bharat Sahaydri hills and mountains are well-known for deep valleys, rock faces and ancient forts. During rainy season, the greens and the numerous waterfalls are a treat to watch but during summertime the water falls are not there, the land is less green but the weather is cool. THE SIERRA program takes you into the desert and the explorer in you is keen to have a look at the vertical castles. Along the western shore of the Indian peninsula, starting right from the state of Gujarat in the north, to the lovely state of Kerala down south, extend the mountain ranges called the Western Ghats. Parts of these Ghats that adorn the state of Maharashtra are referred to as the “Sahyadri Ranges”. The “Sahyadri Ranges” are a delightful mix of dense woods in some areas, deep valleys, vertical cliffs and home to thousands of waterfalls that come to life during monsoon. Some of the areas have been declared “Inheritance” sites by UNESCO because of the flora & the fauna recorded in these areas.

  2. These ranges have a history that speaks volumes about the Maratha kingdom and valor of its soldiers who fought the invaders. The number of forts built and used during these times makes the history stimulating. We operate our programs from near Nasik. Our adventures programs in India are a mix of backpacking and mountaineering the forts.
