Ground Water • Ground Water - water trapped, held, in the pores of rocks - the amount of water changes in the pores - the top edge of this water is called the water table • Water Table - low levels = Drought - high levels = oversaturation (leads to flooding) What are the current water table levels in our area? Why?

  10. Salt Water Lakes • Started as fresh water - outlet to the sea was blocked - man made barriers (Human Environment Interaction) - naturally formed barriers (movement) • What feature houses most of the world’s freshwater?

  11. Landforms • Using the diagram on pg. 34 and 35, identify the landforms. Include a definition, picture, and identify a location that contains the landforms - use the textbook or the online textbook to complete this assignment - use the internet to find locations • This is good information for our future study of regions

  16. T-P-S For the next minute or two, discuss the following question: If the continents are moving, they will eventually run into one another, is this possible, and if so, what would happen?

This must look like something productive, i.e. students talking about the topic of internal forces. Anything that does not look like “productive work” will result in the group being disbanded.
