He is a national leader in the undergraduate research movement and is a past president of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Prof. Stuart Hampton-Reeves Professor of Shakespeare Studies and College Director of Research at the University of Central Lancashire, UK, and Chair of the British Conference of Undergraduate Research.

Learning outcomes • On completion of the course, students will be able to: • Conduct a safe, ethical, well-managed research project • Work effectively both individually and as part of a research team • Review and communicate research literature • Understand the concept and benefits of a ‘researcher mindset’ • Describe the stages of the funding application and award cycle • Explain how to map out a project plan with key milestones and deliverables • Communicate research findings to different audiences • Manage a career plan in academia or other industries • Understand how to translate skills acquired in academia into enhancing their own employability • Understand the ‘business of research’ and professional skills Item 4 item Item 1 item Item 2 item Item 3 Item 4 Item 1
