Characteristics • In a fresh water ecosystem, the trees and plants are full of animals. • The stumps on the ground are parts of the roots. • They are wonderful places to explore. • Fresh water ecosystems can be turned into animal preserves. • The Amazon River is 3,976 miles long and the longest fresh water ecosystem. • Fresh Water is used for humans and animals to drink, for watering crops, and for transportation.

  3. Location • Freshwater ecosystems are found all over the world. • Some of the freshwater ecosystems existed for 10,000 years. • They can be found all over the world on every continent.
