  2. What is asthma? • Asthma is a chronic lung disease that affect the respiratory system. That inflames and narrows the airways. • When a person with asthma comes into contact with something that irritates their airways (an asthma trigger), the muscles around the walls of the airways tighten so that the airways become narrower and the lining of the airways becomes inflamed and starts to swell. Sometimes, sticky mucus or phlegm builds up, which can further narrow the airways.

  3. symptoms • Wheezing • Coughing • Phlemging • Chest tightness • Shortness of breath • Get out of breath quickly • The coughing occurs at night and early in the morning

What to use to help the asthma? • There are asthma pumps that are inhaled that helps open the airway in order to breath. • There are blue asthma pumps. • relievers, which help treat your asthma symptoms – you take these when you feel asthma symptoms starting. • preventers, which help to prevent asthma symptoms – if you need these, it’s likely you will have to take them every day
