Soldiers from all over the world fought to preserve peace and freedom
Soldiers saw poppies growing in the battlefields which had been churned up in trenches
Thus the poppy became a sign of LOSS and HOPE
We Remember and Look Forward
5. Today we remember In acknowledging the tragedy, horrors and destruction of war, we do not forget the loss of those who have fought that we may be free
We hope and pray for peace in in the world
We hope and pray for peace in conflicts, especially in Afghanistan
We hope and pray for a world where freedom, peace and liberty reign and where injustice, intolerance and oppression are opposed.
We stand still to remember loss and hope for peace
