  1. recorder presenter Students begin individual home practice “practice chart” facilitator MusicGrades Seven and Eight Band Groups of four timekeeper Capturing Kids Hearts: Setting Up for Ensemble Playing Teamwork = Success Greeting/hand shake 5 good things (1) Social Contract Questions-see below Name Game (2) Teamwork Social contract Warp Speed • Content Vocabulary: • “Name Game” Positive adjectives starting with the same sound as the S.’s first name (i.e., awesome Austin, excellent Eliza). • “Social Contract” Positive phrases, concepts which answer the 4 questions (i.e., golden rule, respect, patience, kindness, helpful, effort, no put-downs, positive affirmations, encouraging, open-minded, caring, trust, listening, understanding, etc.). (3) Connection between CKH group building activities and ensemble playing: “as a band, we succeed as a group” • Essential Understandings/Learning Goals: • Social Contract Questions: • How would you like to be treated by me (the teacher)? • How should you treat others? • How do you think I (the teacher) want to be treated? • How should we treat each other if there is an actual conflict?
