Challenges of the Provisional Government in Post-Revolutionary Russia

This activity explores the complexities faced by the Provisional Government after the February Revolution in 1917. It delves into reasons for obedience to new laws, the legitimacy of the government, and the challenges of dual authority alongside the Soviet. Students will identify key issues such as inexperience, lack of legitimacy, and social unrest, and evaluate the government's actions in addressing these problems. Various assignments will assess both the successes and failures of the Provisional Government, including individual and group tasks aimed at understanding its impact on post-revolutionary Russia.
