  1. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader Author: C.S. Lewis Retold by: Jessica Branks

  2. In a land called Narnia there was a man named Prince Caspian and a talking mouse named Reepicheep. They were on a boat called the Dawn Treader because they were on an amazing journey. “We must find my father’s old friends, the lost lords,” declared Prince Caspian. Reepicheep responded, “Yes of course, but on the way to the East we should find the edge of the world where we could find Aslan’s mysterious land.”

  3. Lucy and Edmund were visiting their cousin’s house when their cousin Eustace got in a fight with them. Then all of a sudden they were sucked into a painting with a picture of a boat in the ocean. “Ugh! Where are we!” demanded Eustace sopping wet in the middle of the ocean. Lucy and Edmund looked at each other and responded, “Narnia.” Prince Caspian saw them on the Dawn Treader and lifted them up onto the ship. “Good to see my old friends!” smiled Caspian.

  4. On the wondrous journey, they faced many dangers and some were amazing, like when Eustace was changed into a dragon mysteriously, then eventually changed back. They found a forgotten river that changed things into gold. Also Lucy had to cast a spell that made mysterious invisible creatures become visible again.

  5. On the way, many things changed as they headed further towards the East. “The ocean water is sweet, and it fills me right up!” exclaimed Reepicheep. “Yes, and strangely we can look at the sun without hurting our eyes, even though it is so much closer than usual!” gasped Caspian. Lucy shouted excitedly, “It must be because of the water! It’s magical!”

  6. They kept on sailing East filling up on the water and looking to see if there was any land. Reepicheep cried out, “Look at that! I think it might be land!” “Oh, and look at all the birds!” exclaimed Lucy. Caspian murmured, “Yes, I wonder what they are doing so far out here.”

  7. They sailed to the last island and explored it. “Those men that are asleep are the last three lost lords!” shouted Caspian “Oh and look at their hair, it is so long!” exclaimed Lucy. Reepicheep jumped, “There is a house over there!”

  8. All of a sudden they see a man and a young lady come out of the house and walk towards them. “Hello, I am a retired star,” announced the mysterious man. “I’m guessing these three men are your friends. To awaken them you must go to the end of the world and leave at least one person there.” “Then you may return and find the three lords awake,” the retired star’s daughter added. So together, they had a feast and they set off to go to the end of the world.

  9. As they went on, the water started to become shallow. • “Stop the ship! It can’t go any farther in these shallow waters!” shouted Caspian. • So the crew stopped the ship and wondered what would happen next.

  10. Caspian declared, “I will keep going with Reepicheep to the end of the world!” “But Sire you are the King of Narnia, you can’t leave,” replied a crew mate. Mad at this response Caspian left, then he came back later exasperated. “I had a vision and Aslan was in it. He told me I can’t go on to the end of the world and I must leave immediately while Lucy, Edmund, Eustace, and Reepicheep go on to the end of the world.”

  11. They got into a small rowboat and started paddling away. “Off we go to the end of the world!” yelled Reepicheep excitedly. “Oh, look at the lilies floating on the water, they don’t have stems or anything!” gasped Lucy.

  12. As they paddled on, they saw something that took their breath away. “Wow,” they all gasped. “I think we just found what we were looking for all along,” exclaimed Reepicheep triumphantly.

  13. There was a giant beautiful wave that caught their attention, but what they really were looking for was what was right beside it. “Aslan’s land!” they all shouted excitedly. They went onto the land where they saw Aslan himself. “Hello my friends and congratulations. Lucy, Edmund, and Eustace. I am sorry you will be returned to your world, but Reepicheep you can stay,” declared Aslan. Meanwhile, Prince Caspian and his crew went back to the island finding the three lords awake. Prince Caspian married the retired star’s daughter and returned to Narnia where a new adventure begins.
