  3. Class Rules • Treat others as you want to be treated a/k/a R-E-S-P-E-C-T; • If you do not have something nice to say, then keep it to yourself (or else talk to me about it in private outside of class); • Be prepared with paper, pencil, and flashcards.

  4. Tardiness • Both feet need to be completely touching the carpet before the last ding. • DO NOT RUN IN THE HALLWAY OR CLASSROOM because safety is first! • Log your name and time in the tardy log in the event you arrive tardy (even if you have an excuse note); Put your excuse in the tardy log pocket. • Consequences for tardiness were review on the first day of school and are in your student handbook for review.

  5. Class Procedures • Have flashcards ready everyday to study during TIMER TIME (the first ten minutes of class) unless an alternate activity has been given to you by Señor Gaddis. • TIMER TIME happens during the first ten minutes of class after teacher has introduced your learning goals for the day. • During TIMER TIME: NO TALKING, NO WALKING! Unless teacher calls you for something.

  6. Class Procedures II • You will get four restroom/water/stretch breaks per nine weeks, so it is important that you guard your punch card with your life. • Lost punch cards can be earned through voluntary detention with your teacher. • Use your planner every day to copy down “I Will” statements for your class. These statements will be on small white board daily.

  7. Online Assignments (homework) • You have 7 calendar days to complete online assignments. Student who complete them by the next class day will earn extra respect. • The computer lab is open every morning in case you have computer problems at home. • Online assignments will be based on notes you take in class: Notes = Online Assignments. • Online assignments factor in the 40% portion of your overall grade.

  8. Test and Quizzes • Tests and quizzes will make up 60% of your final average. They will usually take place on Fridays. • If you miss a test or quiz due to absence, you may make it up preferably after school to give you ample time. • If you make below a 70 on any test or quiz, you may also retake it after school.

  9. How NOT to earn a DETENTION • DO NOT WALK OR TALK DURING TIMER TIME (while timer is ticking); • DO NOT ARGUE OR BE DISRESPECTFUL TO PEOPLE including the teacher; • HAVE YOUR FLASHCARD OR NOTES TO STUDY DURING TIMER TIME; • DO NOT CAUSE PROBLEMS THAT AFFECT OTHER PEOPLE’S LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES.
