  4. His equipment • He had a powder horn that held his powder. • He had a rifle and pistol. • He had a bag that held ammo and food. • He had a knife to skin animals with.

  5. His family • He had a Shoshone wife named Flying dawn. • He had 14 children.

  6. Other things He was a army scout. He ran away from home when he was a boy. He lived in Illinois. He died May 15 1898. He was born Dec. 19 1818. He sold beaver hats. He died while he was a farmer.
