  5. HCB Solicitors 2013 Throughout this summer I have been working at a Solicitors firm in Birmingham to gain a new experience in a different environment. I have not experienced work in an office before so I learnt new skills in operating the computer software and using the phones. While I was there I did market research for the firm and organised marketing and business talks for the colleagues to attend. Salvation Army- Halesowen 2012 I volunteered at Salvation charity shop for 4/5 months. I was challenged with new tasks everyday ranging from; tagging, steaming and hanging clothes, sorting through clothes to keep or throw out, pricing items, I then went onto working on the tills so I can now work an electronic till and a card machine. On the tills I picked up on customer service skills like greeting the customer, asking them if they need and further help and dealing with tricky customers. Working at Salvation for this period of time has given me the skills and confidence to be able to go straight into any working environment whereas before I wouldn’t have been as confident or professional.
