  2. MASS TOURISM • It is also not the opposite of ''niche tourism'' as many so-called niches are on a mass scale or have mass appeal • These include ,for example: • -religious tourism • -health tourism • -leisure shopping • -film and tv induced tourism

MASS TOURISM • Mass Tourism is not in decline; it is growing • But its nature is changing as a result of factors such as the Internet and the growth of budget airlines • It is the failure of the traditional tourism industry to keep up with changes in the market that is creating the illusion that mass tourism is in decline
