  1. August 17, 2018 DEEP LEARNING TOP 5 Insights into the new computing model

  2. DEEP LEARNING IS THE FASTEST-GROWING FIELD IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)

  3. AS AI TECHNOLOGIES CONTINUE TO IMPROVE, MORE COMPANIES ADOPT DEEP LEARNING TO ACCELERATE THEIR BUSINESSES…

  4. TOP 5 DEEP LEARNING STORIES 1. Reinventing computer graphics through real-time ray tracing 2. How AI is disrupting the oil and gas industry 3. Leading the way in autonomous transportation 4. Everything you need to know about deep learning 5. How voice computing is becoming more realistic

  5. 1 REINVENTING COMPUTER GRAPHICS THROUGH REAL-TIME RAY TRACING At SIGGRAPH, CEO Jensen Huang announced Turing, NVIDIA’s eighth-generation GPU architecture, which features new RT Cores to accelerate ray tracing and new Tensor Cores for AI inferencing. Together for the first time, Huang explained, they make real-time ray tracing possible. “Turing features new RT Cores to accelerate ray tracing and new Tensor Cores for artificial intelligence inferencing which, together for the first time, make real-time ray tracing possible.” READ ARTICLE Source: https://venturebeat.com/2018/08/13/nvidia-unveils-real-time-ray-tracing-turing-graphics-architecture/

  6. 2 HOW AI IS DISRUPTING THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY With mounds of data, the oil and gas industry has begun embracing digital technologies to analyze data more efficiently. As of January 2018, Baker Hughes, a GE Company, has partnered with NVIDIA to integrate AI into the oil industry. “The oil company uses the technology company's AI to combine with its industry knowledge. The result is an algorithm that can analyze the mounds of data collected. These algorithms will predict when problems will occur and detect equipment issues.” LEARN MORE Source: http://www.iotevolutionworld.com/iot/articles/439131-how-digital-technologies-disrupting-oil-gas-industry.htm

  7. 3 LEADING THE WAY IN AUTONOMOUS TRANSPORTATION Limited by the environment by which it needs to understand its surroundings, trains may be the first form of fully autonomous transportation, thanks to Australian company 4TEL Pty Ltd. “4TEL is focused on improved safety, reduced infrastructure and continuous machine learning for train systems. Many see the role played by train operators improved by automated acceleration and braking systems.” READ ARTICLE Source:https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2018/08/15/autonomous-trains-deep-learning-dgx-drive/

  8. 4 EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DEEP LEARNING In a short video, ZDNet breaks down how deep learning relates to a wider field of machine learning and how to get started. “Within the field of AI research, machine learning has enjoyed remarkable success in recent years -- allowing computers to surpass or come close to matching human performance in areas ranging from facial recognition to speech and language recognition.” WATCH HERE Source: https://www.zdnet.com/article/what-is-deep-learning-everything-you-need-to-know/

  9. 5 HOW VOICE COMPUTING IS BECOMING MORE REALISTIC Peter Cahill, CEO of AI startup Voysis, joins the AI Podcast to discuss how his startup is using AI to make voice computing more realistic and a part of more online retail experiences. “The core mission of Voysis is that we are a complete voice AI platform... we allow any retailor or brand to upload their product data to an API, and in a matter of hours, Voice AI understands what users are likely going to say to them.” LISTEN HERE Source: https://blogs.nvidia.com/ai-podcast/
