  2. GHANA • Small print:The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. • Change of heart:The law also means you will have a cooling-off period of seven working days if you want to cancel your order. • Foreign terms:It pays to ensure you are dealing with a reputable company.

BELGIUM • Pre-checked boxes are prohibited • Mandatory purchases remain prohibited  • Cooling-off period of 14 days for distance sales: For goods the period commences the day after delivery and for services the day after concluding the agreement. • The vendor may request payment of the total purchase price: Trader must repay this amount in full within 30 days. • Purchase order and other documentary evidence: If there is a delaye/deposit.

  6. Conclusion • Which legal system has the most appropriate rule according to you? • European countries have a more appropriate rule for the consumer than African countries. You can buy online and still have the same rights of a person who buys in a shop.
