  2. Fourth Grade Social Studies Curriculum • In fourth grade we study early Florida history including: • The explorers • People and places • Ecosystems • The St. Augustine trip will allow the students to experience these areas we study.

  3. Overview Departure: Thursday, May 21st at 5:30 a.m. Return: Friday, May 22ndat 9:30 p.m.

  4. Tentative Itinerary • Day 1 • 11:45 a.m. Arrive at St. Augustine, Lunch at Harry’s Grille • 1:00 p.m. Old Fort/Castillo de San Marcos • 2:00 p.m. time to explore and shop • 5:30 Dinner at Cici’s Pizza • 7:00 p.m. Ghost Tour • 8:00 Hotel Check In

  5. Tentative Itinerary Day 2 • 7:00 a.m. Breakfast at Hotel • 9:00 a.m. Indian Village/Spanish Village • 10:30 a.m. Train tour of St/Augustine • 11:45 a.m. Lunch at White Lion Restaurant • 1:00 p.m. Pirate & Treasure/Old Wooden School • 3:15 p.m. Depart St. Augustine • 6:00 p.m. Dinner

Estimated Cost per Student • $275 per student (based on quad occupancy) • Based on an average of 44 students attending • Included: • Personally escorted tours by Sonshine Tour Guide with Level 2 clearance • Transportation • Hotel accommodations • All admissions • All meals as per itinerary • Not included • Snacks • Gift shop purchases

  8. Payment Schedule • The payment schedule is not flexible. We must pay invoices to avoid penalties so that our costs do not rise and also to hold our reservations. • All payments are NON REFUNDABLE. • All fees are based upon 4 persons to a room.

  9. Payment Schedule • First payment due October 17th • Amount $100 per person • Final Balance due by March 16th • $175 for students • $205 for quad room parents • $225 for double room parents

  11. Hotel details • All rooms will be single gender – all boy or all girl. • We will attempt to accommodate students’ preferences on roommate choices. • Radisson hotel • Chaperones will also be 4 or 2 to a room (this is your choice)

  13. Field Trips are a Privilege A referral earned for severe cause, as per the Code of Student Conduct, will not be permitted. Examples are: bullying, fighting, and vandalism. Two referrals earned for missed homework, attendance, and/or tardies will not be permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions • Can students bring technology? • Yes, but we will not be responsible. • If my child does not attend this trip, will their grade be affected? • No, while we would like every student to have this learning opportunity, students will not be penalized. School will be in session for those students not attending. This will not be an excused absence.

Frequently Asked Questions • Will refunds be issued? • No, because we are paying a tour company, we will not be able to refund any money paid. • Must students wear MGA Uniforms? • We will provide all students with a new t-shirt to wear on Day 1. All students must wear their fourth grade shirts on Day 2. • Sneakers (any color, any style) must we worn on both days.
