A Section J report sets out each part of the Section J requirements of the NCC and ensures your building complies with each part. The BCA Section J Report is a document which shows how the proposed building complies with the relevant Energy Efficiency requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA). WHO REQUIRES A SECTION J REPORT? Any commercial building from Class 3 to 9 requires a section J report to demonstrate compliance with Clause JP1 & JP3 energy efficiency provisions of the NCC Volume 1. WHEN IS A SECTION J REPORT NEEDED? Section J Reports are also used for all new residential and commercial developments that are not covered under Class 1 or 2. The Section J Report is also required for new building extensions and refurbishments to existing buildings.
