Planned experiments The experiment from the FOTON flight will be replicated on Earth following the indications of the temperature data logger Adhesion on material will be determined either by staining and microscopic analysis or by quantitative FISH; space and Earth samples will be compared Fluorescence staining of a steel coupon colonized by P. putida

  5. Adhesion by mixed bacterial communities Experiments performed in the first part of the project point to synergistic biofilm formation by mixed bacterial populations
