  5. Urbanization • Hagzhou- 2 million people in walls • Growth of commerce encouraged people to move to city • Landowners leave farms—prefer social aspects • Crowded

  6. Urbanization (con’t) • Entertainment—musicians, jugglers and acrobats, theaters , restaurants, wine shop and tea house • Foot biding—common in city—not country—status • Stimulates culture and leisure
