  1. How to Move in One Weekend: 4 Tips for the Procrastinator in All of Us Has moving day crept up on you? Did you procrastinate packing? Or plan a last minute move? Don’t worry, DFW Fireman movers are here to help make sure your move is a success! We know that moving is stressful, especially when you don’t have a lot of time to prepare. Here are some tips on how to pull off a local move in one weekend. Here are our tips on how to make the packing process quick and a little less painful. Don’t Panic! Your nerves can get the best of you if you let them, so take a deep breath and make a list. This list should include what needs to be packed, what moving supplies you need to purchase, for examples, boxes and tape, and in what room order you are going to pack. This giant list will be your guide as you make quick work of packing the house. Pro Tip: Don’t waste time by hunting for a specific item as it will be found sooner or later. Purge your belongings. First up on your giant to-do list? Purge. Get rid of all the things you can before you begin to pack. Take a garbage bag and walk through your entire house. It is a great feeling to get rid of things you don’t need. Throw away broken toys, expired medicines, other things you’ll never use again. If you have borrowed items from friends and family, have them pick up the items before you finish packing. Donate any items you don’t need to a local Goodwill or Salvation Army and get a tax credit. Donation allows you to save money by having fewer items to pack and move. Fill All Your Containers. Since your dresser drawers are already filled with clothes, leave them there! Don’t waste time and space, taking the clothes out and packing them in another container. Any items that can be used as a container should be, such as empty chests, appliance boxes, and suitcases. The key rule is; if it’s going to take up room in the truck anyway, so you may as well fill it up instead of leaving it empty. This includes using garbage bags for soft, unbreakable items such as clothes. A bag full of clothes can easily be squashed into a tight area of the truck without causing any damage.

  2. Label boxes. A helpful hint is to label every box you pack! Labels help you save time and not have to go hunting for things once you arrive at your new home. In fact, label or mark them on a couple of opposite sides and don’t forget to mark the breakable items as ‘Fragile.’ Don’t forget to indicate which room the box should be placed by your DFW Fireman Movers. This will save you lots of time on the other end! Achieving a local move in one weekend takes a lot of resourcefulness and imagination. Declutter, fill your containers, donate items and be creative about the items you use. Don’t forget to ask for help; whether you reach out to friends and family or hire our Fireman at DFW Fireman Moving. We are ready to help you get your local move done quickly and easily.
