The Moon

By: Caleb D. Robinson

slide3
The moon has effects on the ocean tide. It makes high tide and low tide. There are 8 different phases of the moon.
slide4
The eight phases of the moon are new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, and waning crescent. Now you know the eight different phases of the moon.
slide5
The moon has things called craters. They are holes caused by flying rocks. These are called asteroids. They hit the moon with a lot of speed.
slide6
When the moon blocks the sun from the Earth, it is called Solar Eclipse. Some people travel thousand of miles to experience a Solar Eclipse. In the picture to the left, the moon is blocking the sun’s light from the Earth.
slide7
When the Earth blocks sunlight from the moon, that is called a lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses can only happen at night because a lunar eclipse is when the moon gets eclipsed. The moon can change colors during a lunar eclipse.
